The Pensacola Renaissance Fair (March 4-5) will take you back in time to a world unknown. Grab yourself a massive turkey leg and watch the jousting commence at the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds. If you're feeling a little more active, try your hand at the annual McGuire's Prediction Run 5K. Don your greenest outfit and run through Pensacola with thousands of other participants. One event you won't want to miss is the 8th annual Perdido Key Wine & Art Festival on April 21-23. This year's 3-day event will include a few changes from year's past. Both Friday and Saturday evenings will be a "Taste of Perdido," featuring a variety of local cuisine paired perfectly with a specific wine. Also in April is the Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast Greatest Beach Party at the world- famous Flora-Bama (April 28-30). This is your once-in-a-lifetime chance to throw a mullet fish across state lines and actually win a prize for doing so! The month of May brings us warmer weather and lots to do, like the Hangout Music Fest (May 19-21) in Gulf Shores, Ala., or the Chamber's annual Spring Fling Golf Tournament at Perdido Bay Golf Club (May 22). The warm month of June welcomes two very big fishing tournaments. The Flora-Bama Fishing Rodeo (June 9-11) is open to all ages and all types of fishermen, from large fishing vessels to fishing from the shore. The Bill Hargreaves Fishing Tournament is held every year on Father's Day weekend. It awards cash prizes for 12 different categories of fish in the Open Division, totaling over $7,200. July is a month for celebrating! Not only do we on the Gulf Coast celebrate the 4th of July whole-heartedly, but also we welcome our hometown Blue Angels, along with some of their high-flying friends, for Red, White & Blues Week. If you plan on attending the air show on Pensacola Beach, make sure you leave early and pack snacks. Traffic can be a bit heavy, but have patience because it's definitely worth it! September is here to make you eat your heart out!
