80 VISITPERDIDO.COM 365 Days of Fun One of the great aspects of the Perdido Key area is there is always something to do. Whether you are a resident or visitor, looking for large events or daily activities, you will never be bored. From Day 1, it's quite a ride! Every New Year kicks off in a particularly chilly way: running into the Gulf. There is the Polar Bear Dip at the Flora-Bama, as well as the Polar Bear Plunge on Pensacola Beach, so make sure you have a warm towel handy! February brings us fun, food, and a multitude of Mardi Gras festivals. Pensacola alone sees roughly five different parades, but don't forget about Orange Beach and Gulf Shores' annual Mardi Gras Parade (Feb. 28). February is also a prime time for our wonderful annual winter visitors. There are a number of events activities specifically catered to our "Snowbirds." On Feb. 23, don't miss the Perdido Key Chamber's annual Snowbird Roost. There are a few changes this year, so be sure to mark it down.
