A kingfish flies high off the coat of Miami, taking with it an expensive goggle-eye live bait. A trio of oyster-catchers. A Texas redfish fights back. This extremely rare daytime arribada (synchronized nesting) of Pacific olive ridley turtles occurred on a Costa Rican beach in the 1950s. It was captured by the photographer's father (also Joe Richard), who was a researcher at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School for three decades. Today, this area is part of Santa Rosa National Park, but the turtles are far fewer in number.
